Geras From MK11 Coming Back!

Mortal Kombat 1 is the next big fighting game from the award-winning NetherRealm Studios. Following the events of Mortal Kombat 11, the latest entry marks a new timeline for the franchise.

Staple characters like Liu Kang, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero are returning to the franchise. Characters from the 3D era of Mortal Kombat are also making a comeback after a long time. This includes examples like Li Mei.

The studio has recently revealed the Keepers Of Times trailer featuring Geras as a playable character.

For the unfamiliar, Geras was first introduced as a newcomer in Mortal Kombat 11. While the latest game is mostly focused on the classic Mortal Kombat roster, Liu Kang is bringing a few characters from the newer entries to his ideal timeline.

Geras can manipulate time, allowing him to freeze his opponents between combos. These abilities have carried over from the last game, making him a versatile character for all kinds of playstyles.

In the last game, Geras enjoyed his time as an extremely strong character in Mortal Kombat 11. However, it remains to be seen if he can maintain a similar position in the upcoming game.

Fans should also note Liu Kang appears to have changed the character’s role. While he was allied with Kronika in the previous game, the trailer hints that he is one of the strongest followers of Liu Kang in the new timeline.

Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to release on September 19. NetherRealm Studios’ latest fighting game will be available for PC, current-generation consoles, and the Nintendo Switch.

The first DLC characters for the game have also been revealed. Kombat Pack 1 will include sadistic villains like Homelander and iconic ninjas like Ermac.
