More Evidence For 2024 Release!

With the Nintendo Switch closing in on the end of its life cycle, several leaks and evidence are suggesting a release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in early 2024.

Adding to these reports, a Chinese SoC manufacturer has hinted that the Nintendo Switch 2 may be released in early 2024.

Why it matters: The Nintendo Switch has already started to show its age with newer games. The console was released over six years ago, which makes a new iteration likely for 2024.

In its latest financial report, PixArt has implied that its supply chain will be active next year due to a new console being released by a Japanese company in early 2024.

The report also claims this Japanese company has not released a new machine in several years, implying that it refers to Nintendo. The Chinese report roughly translates to:

“It is worth noting that the supply chain pointed out that the Japanese game machine will be launched early next year.”

PixArt is a frequent Nintendo business partner with expertise in sensors.

The company has previously assisted Nintendo in the sensor fields during the production of Switch consoles. Therefore, PixArt could again join forces with the Japanese gaming giant for the next console.

Moreover, this is not the only evidence that has suggested an early 2024 release for the Nintendo Switch 2. Recently, it was reported that Hongzhun, a metal manufacturing company, expects a surge in sales next year.

Hongzhun is anticipated to assist in the assembly of the next Nintendo console, leading to the anticipated surge in 2024.

Following the Nintendo Switch, the handheld console market has made a comeback in recent times. This is due to handhelds like the Steam Deck and Asus Rog Ally, leading to existing competition for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware.

The rumored specifications of the Switch successor indicate that it could match the hardware of the PlayStation 4, supporting DLSS for additional performance. It is also likely to include backward compatibility with the existing Nintendo Switch.
