Final Fantasy 16 Producer Considering Plans For Future DLC

More Final Fantasy 16 Content Coming Up!

Final Fantasy 16 has received excellent reviews. Square Enix has also announced it sold over 3 million copies, reaching a large number of PS5 players in less than a week.

The game’s reception has led to much praise from the fans. Many have begun to demand that the developers consider releasing more content to explore the world of Final Fantasy 16 further.

While nothing is confirmed, Naoki Yoshida has heard the requests, and the Producer has recently hinted at future DLC for the game.

Why it matters: Post-launch DLC is standard in the gaming industry. Nearly every AAA game receives some form of DLC, but Creative Business Unit 3 focused on creating a complete experience with Final Fantasy 16.

The Producer was recently asked about potential plans for DLC. He stated that the team aimed to create a complete product. Final Fantasy 16 aims to deliver a story that does not require additional DLC for players to enjoy.

However, Naoki Yoshida also acknowledged the demand for more content. With players enjoying the game, they are looking for another excuse to revisit the compelling Final Fantasy 16 universe.

He further said:

“For us, we’re taking that and then thinking about our options moving forward.”

“Hopefully, in the near future, we can have something that we can give to you all.”

This could mean Creative Business Unit 3 has begun to plan a new DLC for the game. Previously, the studio confirmed that it was interested in working on future games for the franchise.

With the team enthusiastic about more opportunities in the franchise, a DLC seems very likely. Creative Business Unit 3 could use this opportunity to explore side characters, expanding on the game’s narrative.

Previously, Producer Naoki Yoshida has also teased a collaboration with Final Fantasy 14, the popular MMO from the franchise.

Square Enix also plans to release the game on PC, with previous reports hinting that the developers could not achieve seamless loading on PC in time for launch.

Additionally, Producer Naoki Yoshida has a several months long plan to ensure the game succeeds over the next two years. While DLC may not have been part of this plan, more content could lead to more interest and sales for the game after launch.
