Diablo 4 Becomes The Fastest Selling Blizzard Game

93 Million Hours Played In Early Access!

Diablo 4 has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and has already started breaking records in early access.

According to its official Twitter account, Diablo 4 has broken the record for the fastest-selling Blizzard game. The game has also been played for over 93 million hours or 10,000 years within just four days of its launch after its early access release on June 1.

Why It Matters: Diablo is one of the most successful Blizzard IPs and marks the first entry in the mainline series since 2013’s Diablo 3. Since its announcement in 2019, the game has garnered high anticipation, and Activision Blizzard has successfully met fans’ expectations by delivering a phenomenal product.

The game also achieved the highest pre-launch unit sales across all platforms. Additionally, the beta previously shattered the franchise record for the most played beta, with over 62 million hours.

Blizzard plans to provide ongoing support for Diablo 4 for several years, offering paid cosmetics and future story expansion packs. The company has already outlined a roadmap for future content, revealing that they are currently developing 2 story expansions for the game.

Despite a few technical issues, such as connection problems and concerns about overpriced microtransactions, Diablo 4 is shaping up to be the standout Blizzard title of 2023 at its launch.

The game has now been fully launched for PC and various platforms from early access and supports cross-play and cross-progression.
