Following his takeover of Twitter, Elon Musk has made drastic changes to the platform. Soon after his acquisition, the CEO fired a large part of the Twitter workforce and introduced a subscription service for the signature blue checkmark on the platform.

Needless to say, Twitter is a much different place than it was a few months back. According to a new report, Elon Musk is looking to make another significant change to the platform, this time using AI for Twitter.

The report states that Elon Musk has purchased as many as 10,000 GPUs for his Twitter AI endeavors.

It has been speculated that this could be related to the recent rise of AI chatbots like ChatGPT. Elon Musk has spent tens of millions of dollars on this latest purchase, and it might be worth it if he can use his prior experience for a revolutionary Ai technology.

Previously, the Twitter CEO helped confound Open AI. As such, he should have the required experience for a breakthrough in a similar project. Furthermore, Elon Musk has also recruited AI experts Igor Manuel Kroiss and Babuschkin from DeepMind.

The CEO’s exact ambitions with the project are unknown, but it can also be speculated that he may be looking to put AI in charge of the platform, at least partially. Twitter has 1500 employees at the moment, and Elon Musk claims that it is roughly breaking even.

This measure could further optimize the platform, limiting the workforce to essential tasks while AI handles the rest. However, only time will tell if Elon Musk’s investments in AI will be worth it for Twitter.

Artificial Intelligence has returned to the spotlight recently with the innovations brought forth by ChatGPT. Previously, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang referred to the chatbot as the iPhone moment for AI.

Elon Musk may have been similarly impressed with ChatGPT, with the chatbot encouraging him to pursue his own AI project for his latest acquisition.
