Last of Us On The Go?

PC fans have been waiting a long time for The Last of Us Part 1 to experience the ground-breaking action-adventure game with upgraded visuals.

The remake is set to release on 28 March, which is just one day away. While the hype surrounding the release is already high, it seems like The Last of Us Part 1 will be Steam Deck verified on launch.

A montage on Steam Deck’s official website highlights a few games for the handheld. This includes Stray, Hades, and a scene from The Last of Us Part 1 where we can see Ellie with a Giraffe.

While this does not inherently confirm anything, it should give fans hope that the game will be Steam Deck verified. Last year in December, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann also claimed that Ellie and Joel would grace the Steam Deck.

There are thousands of games on Steam Deck, but a select percentage of them are Steam Deck verified. Valve would likely advertise the best games for the handheld, making a decent argument for The Last of Us Part 1 on Steam Deck.

That being said, The Last of Us Part 1 has not earned its Stream verification status yet. The promotion could also be a result of the game’s incredible reputation, and the excitement surrounding it.

The Last of Us Part 1 asks for modern hardware for 1080p resolution and above. But the Steam Deck’s lower resolution, combined with aggressive FSR upscaling may help the Steam Deck provide a portable experience for Naughty Dog’s award-winning title.

The Last of Us is one of the most beloved games worldwide, and now that the remake is just one day away on Steam, PC gamers are excited. While a PC experience sounds promising, several gamers might be further encouraged to pick the game if it supports the portability of the Steam Deck.

Aside from that, what do you think of this promotion? Do you think The Last of Us Part 1 will be Steam Deck verified from day one? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
