Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Reportedly Delayed To Q4 2023

Another Delay Coming Up?

After nearly a decade, the developer behind the Arkham franchise is set to release a new game in 2023. Rocksteady’s latest endeavor features characters like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and more from the Suicide Squad.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was featured at the recent State of Play and showcased several minutes of new gameplay. This included an overview from the developer, but the game has been subject to criticism for various reasons since then.

While Suicide Squad was set to release in May, a new rumor claims that the game might be delayed to Q4 2023. This could be an attempt to address criticism surrounding the gameplay and live-service elements featured in the recent footage.

The information comes from journalist and leaker Jez Corden. Jez has been known to have an excellent track record of leaks and claims to be fairly sure about this information on Suicide Squad.

Recently, many live-service games have suffered from shutdowns and failures one after another. When Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was revealed with this focus, Rocksteady fans were immediately concerned about the game.

The State of Play footage showcased cosmetic customization for the playable characters and a Battle Pass. Additionally, the gameplay shown was mostly limited to third-person shooting without utilizing the unique traits of the four Suicide Squad members.

This led to an underwhelming reception of the footage, and Rocksteady might be looking to course correct with the potential delay. Removing live-service elements would help, but Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League could also use unique gameplay mechanics for each character.

Another reason for a potential delay could be to move the game to a less busy time of the year. The upcoming months are stacked with games like Resident Evil 4 Remake, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, and more.

As such, Warner Bros and Rocksteady could be looking to give their next game some breathing room.

While Jez has been a reliable source, it would be best to take any rumor with a grain of salt until official confirmation from the developers.

There is no denying the disappointing reception to Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League so far, but a delay could go a long way to addressing many of the complaints with Rocksteady’s upcoming game.
