Surprise Launch Incoming For GoldenEye?

Key Highlights

  • Discovered Through Xbox Achievements
  • Expected During Developer Direct Showcase

GoldenEye 007 was initially released in 1997. Over two decades later, the game is set to receive a ground-up remake for modern consoles, including features like 4k resolution support and high frame rates.

The remake was initially discovered through Xbox achievements and then officially announced in September 2022, but not much has been said about the game since then. Fans have been curious to learn more, and a new report hints at an unexpectedly close release date for the GoldenEye 007 remake.

According to eXtas1stv, GoldenEye 007 will be available at the end of January.

GoldenEye 007 has become a cult classic since its initial release. As such, the game has a huge fan following, and it would not make sense to release the game without much marketing from the developers.

Going by the user’s report, Microsoft might surprise fans with a sudden launch. However, Microsoft is also planning a Developer Direct showcase for January 25.

The Developer Direct is stated to be primarily focused on games like Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and Minecraft Legends. However, this does not mean that Microsoft cannot throw in a few surprises for the gaming audience.

GoldenEye 007 would be the perfect candidate for a small-scale showcase like Microsoft’s upcoming Developer Direct. The remake was also revealed at a Nintendo Direct last year, so it would not be far-fetched to imagine the game showing up again at a similar showcase.

The user has previously reported on gaming leaks and news, but it would be wise to take any information with a grain of salt until further confirmation is made from Microsoft and Rare.

GoldenEye 007 remake boasts improved controls, 16:9 aspect ratio support, and a full list of achievements. The game put players back into the 1997 classic while providing a refined experience that stays true to the original game.

The game will be available on Xbox One and Series S|X consoles upon release. Nintendo Switch users can also enjoy the game. Additionally, GoldenEye 007 will also join Game Pass on day one.
