- The former is outselling GTA 6 by a hefty margin on the platform, likely due to a lack of proper physical release from Rockstar Games.
- The Grand Theft Auto entry is expected to outsell the Zelda remake overall, though both games should perform well.
With both Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake and GTA 6 set to launch next month, competition between the two titles is picking up the pace.
Although Activision suggests Modern Warfare 4 and GTA 6 will be the two biggest games of the year, the Zelda remake seems to be beating GTA 6 in terms of sales, at least on one platform.
Why it matters: GTA 6 is the successor to one of gaming’s best-selling titles of all time. However, the upcoming Zelda remake also brings back a classic that many consider one of the best games ever.
The Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Nintendo Switch page on Amazon suggests the game has sold over 70,000 units in the last month.
Amazon also shows the same figure for GTA 6, revealing 9,000 sales on the PS5 and 3,000 on the Xbox Series S|X. This means that Amazon sales for the Zelda remake are over 5x higher than GTA 6.
Of course, GTA 6 has already sold millions of units and will most certainly outsell Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake by the time the full launch rolls around. Because the game’s physical release won’t feature a disc, most people don’t appear to be bothering with purchasing the physical copy.
Both games are expected to be huge deals next month, so November will certainly prove to be exciting for the games industry and all those involved.
