- New footage and screenshots show a cancelled Assassin’s Creed project titled Assassin’s Creed Destiny.
- The project is said to have been set in China during the Qin Dynasty period.
- Ubisoft and Tencent were both working together on the project before it was cancelled.
Assassin’s Creed has had a great year due to Black Flag Resynced’s success and upcoming hopes for future remakes.
However, the series has struggled quite a bit in recent years. Multiple games based on the entry have also been cancelled, one of which has recently surfaced via new leaks. It appears Ubisoft was working on an Assassin’s Creed game set in China at some point.
Why it matters: Ubisoft has already explored China with the series through Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, though this was a smaller side-scroller title.

A new MP1st report shows that a cancelled Assassin’s Creed project, titled Assassin’s Creed Destiny, has appeared online through screenshots and gameplay footage.
The footage shows that the game was to be set during the Qin Dynasty era, which would have given Ubisoft a very different historical canvas compared to recent mainline entries.
It is also said that the cancelled game was a co-production between Ubisoft and Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group. However, it was later cancelled. As for the gameplay itself, it shows off the usual stealth, parkour, and leap of faith.
Other elements like air assassinations are also shown, depicting Ubisoft’s vision for a Chinese Assassin’s Creed entry.

Note that Ubisoft is still working on Assassin’s Creed Jade, another game set in China. However, this particular title targets the mobile games market compared to the AAA segment that Assassin’s Creed Destiny would have aimed at.
