- A complete Nintendo Switch 2 dummy model has appeared online, showcasing some pretty huge design changes.
- The new model features revamped Joy-Cons, a bigger screen, and two USBC ports at different places.
- Nintendo has not commented on the new model by iVoler, so take it with a grain of salt.
Rumors suggest the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 would simply be an iterative upgrade, with a price tag of $499. However, recent models and design leaks have revealed some massive and unexpected changes.
A YouTuber has got his hands on a Switch 2 dummy model created by iVoler. The new model features revamped Joy-Cons, an 8-inch screen, identical thickness, and two USBC ports.
Why it matters: The Switch 2 model leak reveals some pretty wild changes that no one expected. Having a larger screen, hall-effect joy-cons, and rumored specs equal to PS4 suggests a massive upgrade over the current Switch.
NerdNest explains that iVoler’s Switch 2 model has started to seem more genuine over time because of recent leaks. However, he argues that the iterative upgrade feels like a misstep on Nintendo’s part.
Another model leaked by Dbrand some days ago also suggested a similar design, featuring the same external specifications. The Switch 2 is said to be 270mm wide with the Joy-Cons attached (200mm without), 116mm tall, and 14mm thick.
As clarified by strong rumors, an official reveal might happen in mid-January of next year. A user even seemingly acquired a verified Switch 2 device, confirming that it features Hall Effect Joy-Cons, a screen as big as the Steam Deck, and more.
All in all, Nintendo has not taken any action against the flurry of leaks over the past weeks, suggesting it might be overwhelmed. However, take these scoops with a grain of salt.
