Shift Up’s Stellar Blade has been quite successful for a brand new IP. Borrowing from the likes of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, the game quickly resonated with action game fans when it launched in 2024.

In particular, studio founder and Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung-tae is a huge fan of the Bayonetta series and has now offered to help PlatinumGames with another entry.

Why it matters: Bayonetta 3 wasn’t a particularly high point for the series, but many still want to see a fourth entry from PlatinumGames.

Speaking to Famitsu, Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung-tae showed interest in seeing PlatinumGames make more Bayonetta games. The director noted that Bayonetta stands out among his top 3 favorite games of all time.

He also hopes to see the series continue for many more years to come. As per Kim-Hyung-tae, he would be more than happy to help PlatinumGames design characters for a future Bayonetta game.

The director even went as far as saying that he wouldn’t mind staying with the studio for this purpose.

Interestingly, Stellar Blade has already received Bayonetta-themed content, including Bayonetta, Jeanne, and Nun outfits.

Therefore, both PlatinumGames and Shift Up already have experience working on a project together. PlatinumGames CEO Atsushi Inaba also appears quite fond of Stellar Blade, so there is a chance the two could collaborate again in the future.
