- Stellar Blade Blood Rain director says the outfits in the game will be even more appealing.
- They are not dialing down the designs and will continue what they did for the original.
- The new protagonist’s design has received backlash for looking like a child already.
A huge factor in Stellar Blade’s success was the character and outfit designs. So, naturally, when the sequel was revealed, fans wondered if they would play it safe or make similar designs, and Shift Up has now answered that question.
The game director, in a recent interview, was asked this question, to which he replied that the outfits in Stellar Blade Blood Rain will be even more appealing, but that is all he can say about it at this point in time.
Why it matters: Fans praised the studio for going all out with the designs, as Western studios are often criticized for dialing them down to cater to a so-called modern audience, while Asian studios don’t care about that.

Speaking to IGN, game director Hyung-tae Kim was asked if the first Stellar Blade was for its revealing, unlockable outfits, and if there are plans to continue that. Kim said that the outfit designs in the sequel will be even more appealing.
So, it looks like the studio isn’t listening to those criticizing them for this and is still going the way they went with the original. However, there has been another controversy this time, and that is regarding the protagonist, Evie.

Some people believe that she looks like a child and isn’t mature enough for these themes. Now, combining that with the new, even more appealing and revealing outfits, there will undoubtedly be even more debate.
What are your thoughts on Evie’s outfits being even more revealing in Stellar Blade Blood Rain? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.
