What We Recommend
Ryzen 5 9600X: Out of all the 9000 series chips we’ve tested so far, the 9600X might be the one that gives the best bang for your buck. It’s performant, reliable, efficient, and very affordable. Still, we’d wait for a successor to the 5600X3D to release if you’re purely concerned with gaming.
Ryzen 7 9700X: Despite performing well, the Ryzen 7 9700X doesn’t seem like a great level to buy into. It’s not budget enough to have a great price while also not being high-end enough to have top-tier performance.
Having discussed all the ins and outs of these chips, we would definitely have to side with the cheaper processor when it comes to the Ryzen 5 9600X vs Ryzen 7 9700X comparison, as the increase in performance does not seem to justify the increase in price.
