Massive PS5 Exclusive For Early 2024!

Story Highlights
  • Rise of the Ronin is a new PS5 exclusive from Team Ninja.
  • The game is based on a Japanese setting, borrowing elements of games like Dark Souls and Ghost of Tsushima for an RPG with deep combat.
  • It will be released on March 22, 2024.

Team Ninja and PlayStation have collaborated on various projects in the past. With recent games like Nioh, the two have grown closer, and Rise of the Ronin is the latest result of their partnership.

Skipping the PS4, this Japanese adventure is designed for the PS5 console. Rise of the Ronin will put players at the center of 19th century Japan, allowing them to relive the conflicts during this era.

The game was previously expected to arrive in Q1 2024, and Team Ninja has debuted a new trailer for this title at The Game Awards. In addition to new gameplay, this trailer reveals the release date.

Why it matters: Sony has always built its console brand on exclusive games. Therefore, Team Ninja’s upcoming release will be a significant addition to its exclusive lineup in 2024.

The latest trailer shows intense action sequences and critical story moments. Rise of the Ronin features fast-paced combat, with some parts of it being reminiscent of Team Ninja’s recent work on Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

However, while these games primarily focused on a Souls-like approach, the upcoming title is expected to be akin to an action-adventure RPG set in Japan comparable to PlayStation’s Ghost of Tsushima.

The trailer confirms Rise of the Ronin will be released on March 22, 2024.

Rise of the Ronin

In addition to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, these two releases will help ensure the PS5 gets off to a great start during the earlier part of the year.

Rise of the Ronin is shaping up to be Team Ninja’s biggest game of 2024. However, the studio is also working on an unannounced project for 2025, leading to excitement among fans of this developer and its work.
