Intel Core Ultra 7 265K Now Costs $259.99, Better Than Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Story Highlight
  • Intel has slashed the prices of its Core Ultra 7 265K and 265KF processors.
  • The Core Ultra 7 265K is now $259.99, down from $399. The Core Ultra 7 265KF is now $229, down from $384.
  • AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D is faster than Intel’s Core Ultra 7 265K by 14% at 1080p, 7.8% at 1440p, and 2.9% at 4K.

First, it was Intel’s Core Ultra Arrow Lake processors that received a massive price cut from the original launch MSRPs. And now, as the business puts more pressure on AMD in the low-cost gaming CPU market, Intel has lowered the price of its Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 7 265KF processors once more.

For comparison, the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K was first offered for $399 at retail, but it is currently available for $259.99. Originally priced at $384, the Core Ultra 7 265KF, its non-graphics variant, decreased to $284, and is currently only $229.

Intel Core Ultra 7
Intel Core Ultra 7.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF CPU has eight P-cores and twelve E-cores. Even though the (F) version of the 265K does not include an iGPU, it can still be overclocked. The processor has a base power consumption of 125W and is compatible with the LGA1851 socket, so remember you have to buy a compatible motherboard. With boost clocks of 5.4 GHz and 4.6 GHz, the P-core and E-core base clock speeds are 3.9 GHz and 3.3 GHz, respectively.

Suppose we compare the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the greatest gaming CPU currently on the market, with the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 14% faster at 1080p resolution. When the resolution is 2K or Quad HD, the performance difference decreases to 7.8%. The difference is merely 2.9% at 4K resolution.

Although we can see that the AMD processor is definitely faster than the Intel processor, if we compare them with their price, Intel turns out to be better. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D costs $472, while the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K is now on sale for $259.99 on Amazon.

This means that the Intel processor essentially costs 45% less for 2.9% to 14% less performance, depending on the resolution. So if you do not have spare money you should go for the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K has it is worth every dollar for the price it offers.

Xbox Branded Meta Quest 3S Virtual Reality Headset Limited Edition Leaked

Story Highlight
  • Images of a limited edition Meta Quest 3S, styled with an Xbox theme, were leaked online.
  • The headset is expected to be released on Tuesday, June 24, as a limited quantity item.
  • The hardware of the Xbox edition is identical to the standard Meta Quest 3S, featuring the same internal components and specifications.

A user named Zuby_Tech on X has leaked the images of the limited Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition. According to the Game Sandwich, the Meta Quest 3S Xbox will be available for sale in stores on Tuesday, June 24.

Players who will purchase these headsets will receive an additional benefit of three months of free subscription to Game Pass Ultimate. With this, they will also accept accessories such as an Xbox wireless controller and an Elite strap, which are included, thus offering the complete gaming experience from the virtual reality headsets.

Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition

This is the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition leaked picture. As we already know that they will be available on June 24th we should keep in mind that they will only be available in a limited quantity unless they decide to move the launch date to Monday due to this leak.

Additionally, this collaboration is a new internal effort by Microsoft to bring Meta Quest users to its Xbox platform. Meta and Xbox Collab was announced barely two months after Meta formally allowed outside hardware manufacturers to use the operating system. Awaiting the production of virtual reality glasses by ASUS under the ROG gaming brand. It appears that Xbox has chosen to diversify rather than introduce all licensed Xbox products only with ASUS.

While it is 2D, the main distinction is that gamers can enjoy their games on enormous 2D screens that rival the finest movie theatres in your community. However, the game can only be played at a frame rate of 60 frames per second with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. These Xbox Editions of Meta Quest 3S comply with Xbox’s plans, which is to use the power of the cloud to turn any device, no matter how low-powered, into a console.

The Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is nothing more than a Meta Quest 3S with a unique design; therefore, the hardware is identical. The Meta Quest 3S was released in September and features RGB LCDs with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,832 pixels per eye and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. These glasses are powered by a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 SoC with Adreno 740 graphics, 8 GB of RAM, and internal storage options ranging from 128 to 256 GB in size.

The Meta Quest 3S Xbox 128 GB storage will be available for $399 in stores, $100 more than the original model. So if you want to buy it, be quick as they will be limited.

Fans Are Absolutely Thrilled With Blood Message, Says They’re Finally Getting Uncharted 5

Story Highlight
  • NetEase, the developer behind Marvel Rivals, has recently revealed its first-ever single-player game, Blood Message.
  • The developer is receiving praise from the fandom as it managed to capture the essence of a video game that excites the fandom.
  • The fans are comparing this game with the likes of Uncharted and Ghost of Tsushima.

NetEase, a developer that mainly focuses on multiplayer games, recently revealed its first-ever AAA single-player title. The studio released a five-minute trailer showcasing what to expect from the game, and it was enough to excite a massive amount of fandom.

After witnessing the reveal of this single-player title, the fandom is in awe, saying that they are finally getting Uncharted 5

Why it matters: Uncharted is one of the most loved series on PlayStation, but we never got another iteration in the franchise after the fourth part. Fans have always hoped for a sequel, so that is exactly why they are pretty excited for Blood Message, NetEase’s upcoming single-player title that resembles Uncharted a lot.

Finally we get Uncharted 5

I see quite a bit of Uncharted/Tomb Raider Reboot DNA in this and I’m liking it!

This looks like a mix of Uncharted, Ghost of Tsushima, GOW 2018, and AC. Lookin like an old days Sony AAA single player game. Damn does it look good. Will keep an eye out.

-Fans

The fandom has absolutely enjoyed the trailer and compared it with some well-known titles in the industry. However, the majority agrees that it has a lot of resemblance to the Uncharted franchise, which is a good thing.

Fans also started comparing East to West immediately after the trailer was revealed, with some even saying the latter only cares about a quick cash grab, and the former has started to show its real potential, and is showing the world how games are supposed to be developed.

Blood Message is the first AAA single-player title by NetEase.

The game definitely has a lot of potential, and fans are pretty excited despite the fact that it is the studio’s first-ever single-player title. That is probably because such studios offer better games.

Some of the examples are Shift Up, Game Science, and Neowiz. All three of these developers managed to give a solid title without ever working on a project of such a large scale before.

Blood of the Dawnwalker Combines KCD2’s Combat With A Supernatural Touch

Story Highlight
  • Blood of Dawnwalker features two different combat modes, during day and night, but are direction-based, similar to KCD 2 and For Honor.
  • Daytime, players will have to rely on their sword skills with minor vampiric abilities.
  • Nightime, there is an option for stealth, and players can use vampiric claws to attack supernatural enemies.

While Witcher 4 is set for a 2027 release, ex-CDPR devs are working on their own fantasy RPG in the meantime, scheduled for a 2026 release. Blood of Dawnwalker is a unique twist on the fantasy RPG formula with the theme “Trapped Between Two Worlds.”

Rebel Wolves have now officially unveiled the first gameplay footage for Blood of Dawnwalker, which primarily focuses on the combat. The game’s combat seems to be quite similar to KCD 2’s, with the added touch of supernatural powers.

Why it matters: KCD 2 has been hailed for its realistic combat that is quite challenging for players. Blood of Dawnwalker will further capitalize on that with the added touch of superpowers, making the combat more exciting.

Blood of Dawnwalker will feature two different gameplay styles that will differ entirely during day and night. In daytime, players will mostly be engaged in fighting human enemies, relying mostly on their swordplay abilities.

The combat system is similar to KCD 2’s or For Honor, where the attack would be direction-based rather than just spam attacking anywhere.

Players can still use their vampiric abilities to some extent, which can range anywhere from boiling enemies’ blood and burning their skin to other normal finishers that involve beheading enemies.

Rebel Wolves May End Up Changing The Concept Of A Protagonist In A Video Game Overall

During nightfall, players will mostly have to rely on stealth, running over rooftops. Still, if the game forces combat in some instances, Cohen can use his sword or his claws to attack enemies, with the latter being more fun. Combat will still be direction-based, though.

Enemy variety also changes, which will mostly include other vampires and occasional boss battles that seem quite tough. During vampire mode, Cohen’s abilities also expand, including dashing, and a plethora of new abilities that completely transform the game from the daytime experience.

Death Stranding 2 Physical Copies Leak Ahead Of Release, Player Reports 120Hz Support On PS5 Pro

Story Highlight
  • Just days before its release, Death Stranding 2 physical copies have been leaked.
  • Players report that the game supports 120Hz mode on PS5 Pro with 60 FPS+ on a supported VRR display.
  • Death Stranding 2 is another powerful showcase of Sony’s Decima engine that brings strong visuals with little to no performance tradeoff.

Death Stranding 2 is just days away from release and marks the beginning of a streak from Kojima, as the acclaimed artist fears he’s on a crunch and his creativity might run out soon.

Now, it appears physical copies of the game have leaked ahead of launch. Early players report that it’s a technical marvel, with support for 120Hz on the PS5 Pro console.

Why it matters: Ever since its release, the PS5 Pro hasn’t really been able to showcase the power that Sony claims it provides. Death Stranding 2 will be one of the few single-player titles to utilize the console’s capabilities fully.

Some early game screenshots of DS2
byu/trapdave1017 inPS5pro

A redditor has acquired a physical copy of Death Stranding 2 from a physical retail store, which is uncommon since the stores stock the copies just a couple of days before launch.

The user shared a few screenshots of the game running on his console and has reported a quality and performance mode, thus far, with the absence of a balanced mode. Quality mode was previously reported to be limited to 30 FPS only.

The performance mode does feature a 60Hz mode and a 120Hz mode. The 120Hz enabled a variable framerate above 60FPS, but for that, a VRR-enabled device is needed.

Death Stranding 2
Kojima didn’t Trust The Positive Previews For The Game And Made last-minute changes to the Script

Death Stranding 2 also seems to be using Sony’s PSSR upscaling, and there isn’t a huge resolution difference between the quality and performance modes. Overall, the performance mode boasts pretty good visuals and image quality.

Sony’s in-house Decima Engine once again shows its true capabilities and is a testament that more first-party developers need to utilise the engine. There isn’t a huge performance tradeoff for the visuals the engine can deliver.

Chrono Odyssey Closed Beta Shows Significant Visuals Downgrade From 2023 Reveal

Story Highlight
  • Chrono Odyssey is one of the most hyped MMORPGs, but it is currently involved in a massive controversy.
  • The developer released a gameplay reveal trailer in 2023, increasing the fans’ expectations.
  • However, the game’s closed beta has just recently been released, and there is too much difference in the quality.

Chrono Odyssey was officially announced back in 2021, and ever since, fans have had high expectations from the game. Its gameplay was revealed in 2023, which far exceeded the fans’ expectations, making them even more hyped.

Just recently, the title’s closed beta was released, and as expected, many players tried it. On Steam, the all-time peak of the closed beta reached nearly 66k, which is pretty impressive. However, what’s not impressive are the visuals, as they don’t look nearly as good as the reveal in 2023.

Why it matters: Many developers increase the fans’ expectations by showcasing unrealistic gameplay reveals years before the game’s release and end up not meeting those expectations. This has become pretty common in the gaming industry.

Chrono Odyssey Comparison
Chrono Odyssey Doesn’t Look As Good As It Was Shown During 2023’s Gameplay Reveal | Source: X

As you can see in the image above, the difference isn’t small; it is massive, and that is a major concern. For those not in the know, the developer officially called the 2023 video gameplay reveal, so fans are feeling betrayed by this massive difference in quality

This looks like ground for a lawsuit lmfao.

Its like those Mobile Game ads.

This type of false advertising should be illegal. Comapnies do it way too often, but Chrono went overboard with it.

-Fans

The fandom is throwing a tantrum on social media, with some even claiming that this is false marketing and opens up grounds for a lawsuit, which does make sense. However, we would advise fans not to jump the gun as this is only a closed beta and the full game has yet to be released.

There isn’t a release date given, but it is expected to be released late 2025, so the developers are expected to implement the fandom’s feedback by then, or that is what we hope to happen.

When the gameplay reveal was released back in 2023, the fandom was very excited, with many having a collective opinion that this game has a lot of potential. It truly has a lot of potential, but that totally depends on the developers now.

It is also worth noting that there are still stock animations being used, which is even more concerning. Hopefully, the developer manages to fix the major concerns before release.

What do you think about this significant difference in quality? Have you tried the closed beta? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion

Sekiro: Even After 6 Years Nearly 70% Players Haven’t Defeated Isshin, The Sword Saint

Story Highlight
  • It has been six years since Sekiro was released, and around 70% of the players still haven’t managed to defeat the final boss.
  • There is an alternative final boss of the Shura ending, Isshin Ashina, who is also still undefeated by over 80% of players.
  • These two bosses are unforgiving and require a lot of training and patience.

Sekiro is arguably one of the most challenging games to ever exist in the history of gaming, and of course, one of the most fun ones. There has not been a single game out yet that can rival the combat of this game.

Sekiro having the best combat in gaming history is not a reach, as the fandom 100% agrees. However, despite having such a fun and addictive combat, the game’s challenging nature remains the same. It has been six years since this title was released in the wilds, and 70% of its players have yet to defeat the Isshin, the Sword Saint

Why it matters: Unlike other souls-like games, in Sekiro, you can’t cheese the bosses. There are some cheesy tactics, but unironically, they are more difficult than fighting the actual boss.

Sword Saint Isshin Ashina Steam Achievement
Steam Achievement of Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina

Sekio, Game of the Year 2019, has caused many gamers to rage quit. This game has a learning curve, so if you spend enough time playing it, you are sure to get better at it. The rhythm of parrying the opponent, the satisfaction of finally defeating an enemy who seemed impossible to beat, are unparalleled.

However, it seems like the final challenge of the game, one of the hardest bosses to ever exist in video games, The Isshin, the Sword Saint, has proven to be an impossible task for nearly 70% of Sekiro’s players. Not only that, but over 80% of the players couldn’t defeat Isshin Ashina, a different version of the boss.

While the Sword Saint is extremely difficult, there are many who found Isshin Ashina more challenging. You can encounter the latter if you choose the Shura ending.

It is surprising that, even after six years, players are still unable to overcome this challenge. While there aren’t many cheesy tactics in the game, the final boss made many players play extremely defensively.

One of the famous YouTubers, Penguinz0, also resorted to this tactic. He ran up to the boss, hit him once, and did a “strategic retreat”.

What do you think about the fact that the majority of the players have not defeated two of the hardest bosses in Sekiro? Have you defeated both of them? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion

Unreal Engine 5.6 Offers Over 30% Performance Boost In CPU Bound Cases

Story Highlight
  • A new comparison video reveals that Unreal Engine 5.6 provides notable performance improvements over 5.4.
  • The benchmarks were conducted at 4K and 1440p with Nanite and Hardware Lumen on an RTX 5080 and an Intel Core i7-14700F.
  • The GPU performance saw improvements of about 25%, and CPU-bound scenarios experienced FPS boosts of over 30% in comparison.

Unreal Engine 5 has proven to be a double-edged sword for studios. It provides a standardized way of developing titles with stellar visuals and gameplay, but they also require high-end rigs. However, new testing suggests UE5 is finally addressing its biggest criticism.

Why it matters: The testing reveals that Unreal Engine 5.6 provides notable performance jumps in one of the areas where the engine has lacked the most, upgrading CPU thread parallelization capabilities to enable huge FPS boosts.

A video comparison by MxBenchmarkPC reveals that Unreal Engine 5.6 offers significant performance boosts compared to 5.4, especially in CPU-bound scenarios. The FPS increases greatly compared to the old version, which is currently in use by many AAA studios.

The detailed comparison was done using the Paris Tech Demo at 4K and 1440p with Nanite and Hardware Lumen (Ray Tracing) and Ultra settings on an RTX 5080 and an Intel Core i7-14700F. The performance difference between the two versions can be as much as 45FPS.

The testing reveals that GPU performance improved by about 25% at 1440p, while the CPU-bound scenario at 720p saw a significant jump, with over a 30% boost and more stable frame rates. Enhancements to image quality are also noticeable in the comparison.

For those unfamiliar, Unreal Engine 5.6 addresses certain CPU issues and enhances the handling of hardware ray tracing, enabling Lumen Global Illumination to run more smoothly. The engine now also loads game objects faster and handles physics much better.

The GPU-based performance improvements are also significant in Unreal Engine 5.6.

The response to the performance improvements has been quite positive because UE5.6 handles CPU-based scenarios much better now.

However, many users across forums were also irked because a lot of the gaming studios will likely not switch to the new engine version for their ongoing projects. So, we might not see its widespread adoption in the next five years.

Do you think Unreal Engine 5.6 addresses some of the biggest concerns that the criticisms have raised over the years? Is it a step in the right direction? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

PS6 And Next-Gen Xbox To Use AI-Based AMD UDNA; Launch Expected in 2027

Story Highlight
  • Both the PS6 and next-gen Xbox are slated for a release in 2027.
  • They’ll be powered by AMD’s AI-based UDNA architecture from the previous RDNA.
  • Xbox could launch in 2026 based on rumors and first-party games releasing next year.

While the current console generation is quite far from over, considering the small number of games we have, news about the next-gen consoles has already started surfacing online. This time, we have information on both the competitors.

It is claimed that both the PS6 and next-gen Xbox are supposed to launch in 2027, and will feature AMD’s AI-based UDNA architecture, which will be an upgrade over the current RDNA-based graphics.

Why it matters: 2027 will mark 7 years since the release of PS5 and Xbox Series, which will put it just in line with the time frame of the last-gen consoles.

Consoles without Disc Reader
PS6 and next-gen Xbox could release in 2027

According to Kepler, a well-known leaker, PS6 and the next-gen Xbox will launch with AMD UDNA graphics. It’ll feature a 20% jump in performance over RDNA4 in raster and twice the increase in ray tracing abilities.

Like the current generation, the consoles won’t have any 3D cache. This would be upsetting for the fans, as there were rumors of it. However, based on this, it doesn’t seem like the next-gen consoles will receive too big of a power boost.

Xbox and PS logos
Both consoles are rumored to feature AMD’s AI-based UDNA architecture

Nonetheless, as upscaling has become a central part of gaming, we can expect that from the consoles. The PS5 Pro already features PSSR, which hasn’t really shown results that Sony would have expected.

However, we can expect it to get better over time. For now, the release slate for PS6 is 2027, while for next-gen Xbox, it could be moved to 2026, considering most of the companies’ heavy-hitters release next year.

Following Splitgate 2’s Troubled Launch, Developer Studio 1047 Games Announces Layoffs

Story Highlight
  • Splitgate 2 developer studio, 1047 Games, has announced that it will be laying off a small group of its staff.
  • This announcement comes just a little over 2 weeks from the game’s launch.
  • Splitgate 2 has faced considerable controversy, mainly over the developer’s remark and jab at Call of Duty.

Splitgate 2 was the highlight of this year’s Summer Game Fest, with the most controversial opening of its new trailer. The presenting developer took shots at Call of Duty and demanded that FPS be made great again before presenting a new trailer for Splitgate 2.

To nobody’s surprise, Splitgate 2 launched in a terrible state, with the developer facing public backlash and the game receiving mixed reviews on Steam. Now, 1047 Games, the developer studio behind Splitgate 2, has announced that it will be laying off a small group of its staff following this troubled launch.

Why it matters: Splitgate 2 has been out for just a little over two weeks, and the studio already laying off employees highlights just how poorly the game has performed.

1047 Games Announcing That It Would Be Downsizing On LinkedIn

In a new LinkedIn post, 1047 Games announced that it would be downsizing to redirect resources and build the best game for its players. Additionally, the studio’s co-founders, Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian, have decided to forgo their salaries to allocate the resources further towards the game.

Moving forward, 1047 Games is working on delivering the next phase of the game for Splitgate 2. However, it’s unclear how many developers were laid off, but downsizing practices have become increasingly common in the industry.

The Upcoming Tomb Raider Game Is Scheduled To Release Alongside GTA 6, It’s Claimed

Story Highlight
  • We know very little about the upcoming Tomb Raider title except for some artworks.
  • A new rumor has surfaced, suggesting that the game is set to release next year alongside Grand Theft Auto 6.
  • The rumor also revealed that the game’s first look is expected early next year.

Tomb Raider is one of the most classic franchises, as its main lead is considered one of the best characters in the history of gaming. However, the last game in the franchise was released in 2018, so it has been 7 years since fans have been deprived of a new title.

That said, a new iteration in the series has been in development for quite a few years now using the Unreal Engine 5. While we haven’t seen much of that game, a new rumor has suggested that the game isn’t that far away. According to a new report, the game is set to release next year alongside Grand Theft Auto 6.

Why it matters: Releasing a game alongside GTA 6 would be pretty brutal, but that may not be the case when it comes to this classic franchise. Tomb Raider is loved by millions worldwide, and it may not significantly impact sales.

Tomb Raider
As Per Previous Reports, The Upcoming Tomb Raider Will Feature A Open World

In a now-deleted post on a Tomb Raider Subreddit, it was revealed that the game is targeting a May 2026 release window. The user who posted it warned that the post would be taken down soon, but some users managed to replicate all of the information accurately.

The next mainline game is currently targeting a May 2026 release (Grand Theft Auto VI could cause a delay or a month of early release). A fan event is planned for February 14, 2026 to early-celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary, where a first look of the title is expected.

If this rumor is anything to go by, it seems like we will be getting a first look at the game early next year. It may be possible for the title to release just three months after being shown to the public, as it has already entered the polishing phase.

It Has Been Seven Years Since The Last Tomb Raider Game Was Released

The rumor also claims that GTA 6 may cause it to be delayed or released a month earlier. The former may be more believable. That said, fans should take this information with a grain of salt until it is confirmed officially.

AMD Next-Generation Radeon GPUs Will Arrive With HDMI 2.2 Connectivity

Story Highlight
  • Future high-end AMD Radeon graphics cards may feature HDMI 2.2, offering a potential bandwidth of 80 Gbps, an increase from the current 48 Gbps supported by HDMI 2.1.
  • Not all next-generation AMD cards will get the full 80 Gbps; some may be limited to 64 Gbps.
  • It is not yet known if AMD will name the new architecture RDNA 5 or something else.

A well-known leaker Kepler brings information about the next-generation AMD graphics support. According to a post on X, the next-generation AMD Radeon graphics will feature HDMI 2.2 connectivity with a bandwidth of up to 80 Gbps. This is faster than the current implementation of HDMI 2.1 connectivity, which is 48 Gbps.

AMD has yet to decide whether it will use the RDNA 5 architecture or make any significant changes at the architectural level to rename it to UDNA. Additionally, it has been stated that future high-end AMD Radeon GPUs would support up to 80 Gbps of bandwidth via an HDMI 2.2 interface.

However, the brand’s other graphics cards will only support 64 Gbps of bandwidth. This means that the interface’s maximum capacity of 96 Gbps will not be constrained. It will violate the HDMI Forum’s mandated maximum resolution, refresh rate, and compression standards. It is unclear whether a software update will be necessary to achieve the full bandwidth or whether we are dealing with a hardware limitation.

GFX13 RDNA5 HDMI 2

According to the leaker, there is currently no information on DisplayPort 2.1b support for the GFX13 architecture. Furthermore, the DisplayPort standard is more promising in the long run because the HDMI interface requires royalties to be paid for trademark registration. Ultimately, this increases the price of any product. Given that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 and professional GPUs are built on the same architecture, Blackwell currently supports DisplayPort 2.1b, making it compatible with this interface.

AMD used the DisplayPort 2.1 interface, but it could only support UHBR13.5 (54 Gbps) instead of UHBR20 (80 Gbps). AMD only included this interface in their professional-grade Radeon AI Pro W9000 GPUs. It should be noted that a new cable, called HDMI Ultra96, is required to utilize the latest HDMI 2.2 protocol.
