Mortal Kombat 1 has received plenty of new information at San Diego Comic-Con. NetherRealm Studios has revealed a new trailer confirming characters like Li Mei and Tanya, but the developer has also teased the game’s first DLC characters.
Previously, a leak from Amazon hinted that Homelander and Omni-Man would be among the characters included in the first Kombat Pack. Following the leak, The Boys’ TikTok social media account teased Homelander for the game.
Both characters have been officially confirmed by NetherRealm Studios, leading to more excitement for the game.
Why it matters: Mortal Kombat has featured guest characters for several years, but the latest iteration could include more than any other game. The first Kombat Pack will include three guest characters.
The trailer opens with Omni-Man. However, the character is quickly joined by the classic Mortal Kombat character, Ermac. Peacemaker is also shown in the trailer, and Homelander completes the DLC roster for an exciting trailer.
Aside from the classic characters, Omni-Man and Homelander are powerhouses with super strength and abilities like flight. Their brutal nature fits well with the Mortal Kombat franchise.
Characters like Takeda and Quan-Chi are also part of the roster. As stated earlier, these characters will not be included in the base roster. Users looking to pick these characters are required to purchase the Kombat Pack or buy them as individual DLC.
The Boys has become an iconic comic book adaptation on television. NetherRealm Studios is bringing the popular Tv show to the gaming industry with Mortal Kombat 1, which will likely encourage many new players to try the title.
The same can be said for characters like Omni-Man and Peacemaker, with fans of different media uniting in the game to determine if their favorite characters can tough it out against the formidable Mortal Kombat roster.
