Metal Gear Solid 4 Remaster Possibly Teased By David Hayter

Fingers Crossed For MGS4 On Modern Platforms!

Story Highlights
  • Metal Gear Solid 4 was released in 2008 only on the PS3.
  • The game was previously rumored to be released on the current-gen platforms.
  • David Hayter, the famous voice actor featured in the series, has recently shared a picture with Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4.

Konami is leading a new era for the Metal Gear Solid franchise, recently releasing the somewhat disappointing Metal Gear Solid Master Collection. This has led to hope for modern ports of games like Metal Gear Solid 4.

The publisher claims that future games will be influenced by fan demand, and it appears David Hayter is teasing something related to Metal Gear Solid 4.

Why it matters: Metal Gear Solid 4 is among the few games in this series locked to an aging system. While it supposedly worked on the Xbox 360, Konami released the game as a PS3 exclusive in 2008.

David Hayter recently posted a picture with Solid Snake, the main character of Metal Gear Solid 4. He said:

“Had a pretty cool meeting the other day…”

Since Konami has already teased another Master Collection and references to this entry have been spotted in the first collection, this could be part of another elaborate teaser from David Hayter.

This tweet has also sparked speculation among fans on Twitter/X. Many believe the voice actor has provided a subtle hint at this long-forgotten classic from Konami, continuing his wave of teases from October.

Last month, David Hayter collaborated with Konami on a special teaser video. The voice actor teased bigger things to come and said:

“This is just the beginning.”

Since there is already plenty of evidence pointing toward a remaster of Metal Gear Solid 4, we believe it is only a matter of time before this game is freed from the shackles of the PS3.

However, we hope Konami does a better job porting this game than the recent Master Collection.

Konami is also working on Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, which appears to be a stunning recreation of the classic game judging from a recent showcase.

Therefore, the publisher has major plans extending to the next few years. These plans may include a potential Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster, bringing this phenomenal entry to current-gen consoles and PCs.
