Marvel’s Wolverine Allegedly Set For Launch In 2024

Another Amazing Game From Insomniac Coming Up?

Story Highlights
  • Marvel’s Wolverine was previously rumored to be released in Fall 2024.
  • This leak has been strengthened by the Art Station profile of Hung Nguy.
  • Insomniac could be gearing up to reveal more information about the game soon.

Insomniac has become a flagship developer for PlayStation, setting new records with Spider-Man 2. With the game being immensely successful, the studio has now shifted its entire focus to Marvel’s Wolverine.

However, this game has not been seen since its initial reveal in 2021. A previous leak from Jeff Grubb revealed that Insomniac is targeting a Fall 2024 release window for the title, in addition to a Mature rating.

A similar release window has been spotted on the ArtStation profile of Hung Nguy, who worked on Wolverine as a concept artist. His ArtStation profile indicates a 2024 launch window for Marvel’s Wolverine.

Why it matters: Following its work on Spider-Man, Insomniac has become the studio of choice when a new game based on comics is brought up.

In recent years, Insomniac has been known to release games at an incredible pace. Since the release of the PS5, the studio has already put out three games, including Spider-Man 2. Some even believe the team is now PlayStation’s best studio because of this work.

Given its efficiency, it would not be surprising to see Marvel’s Wolverine being released in 2024. However, it should be noted Jeff Grubb emphasized that the studio was also ready to delay the game to 2025 if needed.

Therefore, the ArtStation profile may point to an optimistic target instead of a fixed release window. Anyhow, we expect to learn more information about the game soon if the team intends to launch before the end of 2024.

With The Game Awards scheduled for next month, Insomniac may have an announcement or teaser in the works, but it would be wise to lower expectations.

Like everyone else, we would be glad to receive Marvel’s Wolverine in 2024 as long as this release target does not negatively impact the game in any way. PlayStation has not revealed much about its first-party slate for next year, so this could be one of its many surprises for 2024.
