Mafia Is Finally Coming Back!

Story Highlight
  • Mafia 4 was reported to be in development several years ago.
  • A famous leaker suggests an official announcement of the game is coming soon.
  • While he doesn’t know an exact time frame, he believes it’s going to show up in 3-4 weeks.

Ever since the last entry came out in the Mafia franchise, fans have been waiting for quite a few years for Mafia 4. While it is known that the developers are working on the next entry, not much has been revealed officially.

However, a reliable industry insider has suggested that an official announcement of Mafia 4 is coming very soon.

Why it matters: Mafia 3 is nearly eight years old already, so the team may be ready to unveil a brand new entry this year.

This information comes from reliable leaker Kurakasis, who has revealed that Take-Two is gearing up for an official announcement.

Take-Two began preparations for an announcement regarding the Mafia series.

The game will be published by 2K Games, which is owned by Take-Two. According to the report, an announcement will arrive in just over a month.

While he could not determine the exact timeframe for the reveal, the leaker points to Judas. He states that the team took three to four weeks to reveal the recent Judas previews, so they should follow a similar pattern for Mafia.

Mafia Has Received Classic Re-Releases Most Recently

It has also been claimed that Sony is planning a PlayStation event next month. Beyond May, various events, including Summer Game Fest and Xbox Games Showcase, are scheduled for June.

Therefore, the announcement could show up at any of these events. Though not much is known about the title, a recent job listing suggested that the franchise is going in a new direction and will feature stealth and multiplayer gameplay.

Following Hangar 13’s Mafia Definitive Edition, we have high expectations for Mafia 4.

With an announcement supposedly a month or two away, this is the perfect time to revisit the older games. We suggest starting with Hangar 13’s remake of the first game since it perfectly captures all the best parts of this IP.
