The AI Creator Will Reduce Production Cycles By Integrating AI Tools Into The Company's Workflow.

Story Highlight
  • Lies of P developer Neowiz is committing to generative AI as revealed by a new job listing.
  • The company is hiring an AI creator to use tools like Midjourney for character creation and concepts.
  • This artist will create custom models and integrate AI into the workflow to reduce production cycles.

Just recently, Sony became the biggest publisher in the industry to declare support for AI utilisation to make production cycles faster. Many major companies have come out in support of the technology in recent months, with EA revealing that it is using AI tools for 85% of its Quality Assurance work.

However, despite claiming the technology, many publishers like Epic Games have stated that it won’t impact human jobs at all. While only time can tell us if that’s true, another company has turned to AI for its next projects, and this time it’s Lies of P developer Neowiz.

Why it matters: Even though many are warming up to the idea of AI utilisation to reduce development time, the majority are still not comfortable with developers using Generative AI for art.

In a new job listing, Lies of P developer Neowiz highlighted its push for AI by looking for a new AI Creator to work on its upcoming projects. Posted for its Round8 Studio, this listing reveals how the company is shifting to generative AI.

The Responsibilities section of the job posting includes the creation of characters and concepts using Generative AI tools like Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. The AI Creator will also be responsible for training custom models and optimising them for the project’s specific art style.

Furthermore, the Lies of P developer wants to integrate these AI tools into the company’s existing workflow so it can reduce the production cycle of games while building an efficient AI art pipeline. From the looks of it, Neowiz wants generative AI to become the norm for artists working at the company, as the AI Creator will also guide other in-house creatives on how to use generative AI tools.

Of course, other gaming giants are also utilising AI to mediate workflow issues, with 9 out of 10 studios currently implementing the technology. However, using generative AI for art isn’t something that is going to go down too well with the fans.
