The Last of Us is probably one of Sony’s most popular franchises. It is considered peak storytelling with deep and complex characters that leave a mark. There are also rumors that Naughty Dog is finally looking into the sequel.
Troy Baker, in a recent interview, talked about the inevitable The Last of Us Part 3 and how it could be set up. He said that he trusts Naughty Dog and their ideas, but they could be going for a whole new story with the sequel.
Why it matters: The last game ended kind of openly with Ellie leaving the farmhouse and probably going after Dina; however, it isn’t confirmed if it sums up her story or is just going to introduce a brand new story and characters.

In an interview with Insider Gaming, Joel VA, Troy Baker, teased The Last of Us Part 3. He suggested that the game could tell a whole new story, and he would be totally on board with it, as he trusts Neil Druckmann to deliver.
Baker further said that he isn’t sure if they’re going to look forward, or go back, or revisit something, and he trusts Naughty Dog to know the best. He doesn’t know if it’ll have a place for him, but he’ll look forward to it.

Now, for Part 2, the studio very neatly connected the dots and made it a continuation, but those dots don’t seem to be there this time. Doing another revenge story will be repetitive, so let’s see what the studio does.
