- Konami has confirmed work on a new Castlevania reboot.
- The developer mentions the series as a huge priority, in addition to IPs like Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill.
- This move is part of Konami’s broader focus on reviving legacy franchises.
Konami has done a great job bringing original franchises like Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid back with new remakes. Moreover, brand new entries in such IPs have garnered interest from new fans.
As it continues this focus, the Japanese studio also confirms a focus on Castlevania for the near future.
Why it matters: Despite its absence from the industry in recent years, Castlevania remains incredibly popular and recognizable as one of gaming’s biggest IPs. The franchise has received various TV adaptations, highlighting the existing demand from audiences.

As reported by Genki, Konami president Hideki Hayakawa has recently noted that a Castlevania reboot is a huge priority. The report suggests a Castlevania reboot is actively in development at Konami.
Reboots of existing IPs such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Suikoden are important intiatives.
The company’s president says that the team will reach new players through existing IPs as long as demand for said franchises exists.
As part of this focus, Konami also announced Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse for an October 2026 release. Although this is a smaller project, the Konami president suggests bigger announcements are coming soon.

Given Konami’s recent actions, it’s possible that the team is working on a Castlevania remake. Perhaps a game like Lords of Shadow or Symphony of the Night will get the remake treatment in the future.
