"There Was Some Misinformation"

Story Highlight
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 devs have recently announced that the game will not have Denuvo after launch.
  • The inclusion of the anti-cheat was a huge rumor that sparked a lot of backlash from the fans last month.
  • The devs have warned the community not to believe in anything unless the studio officially announces it.

Many fans are extremely excited for the Kingdom Come Deliverance sequel, and for all the good reasons. After the last game’s massive success, the expectations of the community for the RPG have tripled. However, KDM2 found itself in a steep controversy even before its launch came within anyone’s reach. A rumor sprawling from the depths of the web last month implied that it would feature Denuvo.

The hearsay caused a lot of backlash, which the developers have now officially addressed. Warhorse Studios recently confirmed in an online live stream that the rumors of Denuvo were entirely false.

Why it matters: The Kingdom Come Deliverance sequel’s lack of Denuvo has comforted a slew of angry fans who believed the rumors. The first game also did not utilize the controversial anti-cheat.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will be an action-packed RPG that completely evolves the elements of its predecessors.

During the two-hour live stream on Twitch, the studio’s global pr manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, mentioned that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will launch without the Denuvo anti-cheat. He also urged everyone not to bring up the topic again after the developers received a barrage of messages from the worried community.

There were some discussions, of course, there was some misinformation, but at the end of the day, there won’t be any Denuvo at all, and with that, I would like you to close the case already.

Fans were originally concerned because Deep Silver has shipped some of its latest PC releases with Denuvo. Regardless, to give us an idea of high-end system requirements, a dev said that NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super should run the RPG with 60fps at 4K or very high settings.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is set to release on February 11, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
