GTA 6 has been garnering huge praise from all over the gaming community. Players have been stunned by what a great job Rockstar Games has done, ranging from the visuals to the gameplay and the humongous open world.
However, the director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn’t too impressed and has criticized GTA 6, saying that the game seems to have zero story hook. He says the protagonists are bland, which doesn’t make a good story.
Why it matters: There have been debates that Jason and Lucia don’t seem as interesting as the three protagonists from GTA 5, but based on just an extended look, it doesn’t make much sense to call out the story and characters.

Daniel Vavra says that a good story needs complex characters, internal conflicts, and a great motive. He stated that he saw none of that from the GTA 6 reveal; instead, what he saw was just a “fantastic tech demo”.
He praised the technological miracle and an open world no one ever even imagined, but that’s where the positives end. Vavra called the protagonists two uninteresting sociopaths chaotically committing mass murders.
The KCD 2 director continued that the story has no hook, and it’ll only work for multiplayer and people doing random stuff. Now, historically, GTA hasn’t been about the most fleshed-out plots anyway.
Instead, the focus has mostly been exploration and chaotic fun gameplay, and GTA 6 does exactly that. In addition, its story is 80 hours long, and a 26-minute showcase is too little time to judge the entire plot already.
