ID Software Reportedly Helped Bethesda With Starfield Combat

"Combat Is Now In Far Better Situation Than It Was During Last Year’s Xbox Showcase"

Starfield is an upcoming Microsoft game that is anticipated by many. Since it was revealed that Starfield would have more than 1000 Planets, fans have been waiting for the game’s release. The release date is not too far away, as Starfield is set to release on September 6th, 2023.

The game just received a mature rating due to violence and drug use, along with some other reasons. Now, a new rumor on the 4-chan forum from someone very close to ID Software has revealed that ID Software worked with Bethesda to improve the combat of Starfield.

Starfield

Why it matters: The recent entry from Microsoft, Redfall, has disappointed fans in many ways. The game got negative reviews from both critics and fans and became Arkane’s worst release. So, fans got concerned that the same thing might happen with Starfield.

If this current rumor by 4chan is true, then fans don’t have to worry about the combat as ID Software’s work on Doom Eternal is commendable. According to 4chan:

“iD Software worked with Bethesda to overhaul combat in Starfield, joined the project in August last year.

I have extremely close ties to an individual at iD Software who reported this to me.

Combat is in a situation far better than it was during last year’s Xbox showcase.”

This information should be taken with a grain of salt as we have no official information about their collab. We might hear about the studio as the rumors have surfaced online. With that said, fans don’t have to worry about the performance of Starfield for now, as the game is inspired by every Sci-fi Movie/TV Show in one way or another.

As Redfall skipped the 60 FPS performance on launch so Starfield may skip the 60 FPS too. However, it is also possible that they will release the 60 FPS performance mode in the future via an update, as we recently saw this happening with A Plague Tale: Requiem.

The hype of Starfield is increasing day by day as in Feb it became the most Wishlisted  Steam game. Aside from that, what do you think of ID Software potentially working with Bethesda to improve Starfiled’s combat? Are you excited about the game?
