- Horizon Forbidden West is the first PlayStation PC port of 2024.
- The game arrives on the platform on 21 March.
- Details about the system requirements should arrive next month.
After much speculation and rumors about the Horizon Forbidden West PC port, Sony confirmed last year that the game would finally arrive on PC two years after its launch.
Despite the announcement, Sony didn’t mention any release date for the PC Port, claiming that the game would arrive in early 2024. However, the official release date has been finally revealed.
Why it matters: PlayStation is expected to release more ports in 2024 than before. The gaming giant is becoming increasingly focused on multiple platforms, and PC is the biggest focus for Sony after PlayStation.
Sony has just shared an official blog, confirming Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is coming to PC on March 21.
As announced earlier, Horizon Forbidden West’s PC port will launch with DLSS 3 support. Other Nvidia technologies, like Reflex and DLAA, will also be supported in the game.
This is the first port of 2024 after PlayStation slowed down its release schedule. In 2023, the gaming giant’s second major PC port of the year was a complete disaster, with The Last of Us Part 1 becoming a laughing stock due to poor optimization.
However, with more time between each new release, Horizon Forbidden West is shaping up to be much better. With less than two months before release, the game is available for pre-orders and will include various bonus content, like the Blacktide Outfit and Blacktide Bow.
The Nora Legacy Outfit and Nora Spear will only be given if players connect their Steam account to PlayStation.
Following this confirmation, the official system requirements for the game are expected to arrive in February.
Horizon Forbidden West is a massive PC port for PlayStation for various reasons. Not only is it following up on PlayStation’s biggest release on the platform, but it also serves as the sequel to the first PC port Sony worked on.
Overall, Horizon Forbidden West’s announcement has been met with a lot of anticipation. We can only hope the PC port is released in a functional state, breaking the chain of poor ports from 2023.
