A new job listing has emerged, implying that GTA 6 might be released in early 2025. The listing is for a ‘Localisation Tester,’ who is responsible for making sure the final product turns out as high quality as possible.

Why it matters: According to Rockstar, GTA 6 is coming out in 2025. However, with the prevalence of delays in the industry, this window is far too vague to make valid conclusions.

Rockstar has opened a position for a Russian localisation tester, but the employee will be hired with a 12-month contract. This suggests GTA 6 could be launched by the end of that tenure.

Since localisation is typically done towards the end of development, Rockstar would not let go of the employee if it needed more time. With the contract ending around March 2025, GTA 6 is expected to arrive around this period.

If everything goes according to plan, the developer could launch it in March or a few months later. The job listing seeks to hire quality assurance personnel, which means teams have been on the translation project for a while.

Furthermore, a reliable leaker recently stated that GTA 6 was moving toward the final stage of development soon. Combining the job listing with this leak certainly hints that the next Grand Theft Auto entry will be in our hands by early 2025.

Rockstar has a habit of delaying its games, missing the first launch target shown in trailers.

With GTA 6 coming over ten years after the last entry, this trend seems to be on its way out, but the Take-Two CEO has already stated that Rockstar is aiming for perfection and will not be rushing on the job.

As work on GTA 6 continues, many developers at Rockstar are fearing a return to crunch culture. However, the developer is now looking to move swiftly through the final phase, making an early 2025 launch appear quite likely.
