Next God of War Title Features Faye As Protagonist Instead of Kratos!

Story Highlight
  • The next mainline God of War title is said to feature Faye as the protagonist.
  • Insiders suggest PlayStation is preparing a new State of Play for later this month.
  • They also point to the same event featuring the first look at the God of War game, starring Faye.

The God of War franchise is said to be making its return to the games industry with a brand new reveal soon. This announcement will follow the exciting God of War Trilogy Remake debut from earlier this year, giving fans multiple new projects to look forward to.

Although PlayStation has yet to say anything about this title, rumors suggest that an official announcement is coming as soon as this month.

Why it matters: PlayStation typically hosts a major State of Play during May or June, and this event would serve as the perfect venue for the announcement of the next mainline God of War title.

God of War Is Expected To Leave Kratos Behind For The Next Entry

An insider on Twitter recently suggested that PlayStation’s next State of Play would go live on May 24. This information was also corroborated by insider Detective Seeds, adding further validity to the report.

Soon after these Tweets, another famous leaker joined the conversation. In typical cryptic fashion, The Snitch stated, “Faye of War.” For those in the loop, this is a reference to the discussions regarding Faye’s lead role in the next God of War entry.

Kratos’ wife from the Norse Saga is said to be the protagonist of the game, so the insider appears to be teasing the game’s official reveal for the upcoming State of Play later this month.

This information is also significant since multiple insiders have already reiterated that the game will be revealed very soon.

The Next God of War Game May Feature Multiple Mythologies

It’s worth taking this information with a grain of salt, but PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio appear nearly ready to officially showcase the game to the world.

Nearly four years after God of War Ragnarok’s release, expectations are certainly high for what comes next in the series, even if the big project doesn’t star Kratos as the protagonist.
