Gears 6 Shaping Up To Be An Impressive Title, Says Insider

The Coalition Is Cooking!

The Gears franchise has always delivered top-notch third-person shooter gameplay, and each installment in the series is met with great anticipation. The next installment in the series, Gears 6, has also been heavily rumored for some time.

Recently, well-known journalist Jez Corden claimed he had heard some impressive things about The Coalition regarding the Gears series. He then told fans to be patient and that this would be rewarded.

Why it matters: Gears has been amongst the best Xbox IPs. The last mainline title was released nearly four years ago, leading to anticipation from the fans.

This was in response to a Twitter user being upset about the lack of news regarding Gears at the recent Xbox Games Showcase, but Jez Corden’s reply seems to further solidify the Gears 6 rumors.

In 2022, several job listings from The Coalition were hiring for the new Gears game. Another rumor has claimed that a Gears collection is in development, but nothing has been officially confirmed.

Previously, another insider, Jeff Grubb, claimed that The Coalition had canceled several of its projects to work on its next Gears game. Gears 6 might be the developer’s best work with the team entirely focused on the project.

With Starfield and Forza Motorsport coming in 2023, Microsoft’s first-party line-up looks better. However, the Gears franchise has been a staple since the days of the Xbox 360. A new title would generate excitement for the franchise and further improve Microsoft’s first-party offerings.
