- The latest GTA 6 leaks have revealed many minor details about the upcoming blockbuster title.
- The game seems to feature more immersive elements, melee combat inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2, and more.
- Small additions like character attributes and NPC behaviors also hint at many new additions to the series.
GTA 6 is currently the most anticipated game coming out in 2026, and ahead of its Netflix preview, it has suffered a major leak.
With Rockstar Games keeping fans starved for more information for years, many have taken it upon themselves to extract as much as possible from this latest leak. Like the major leak from 2023, this year’s leak reveals a slew of different details about GTA 6 yet again.
Why it matters: GTA 6 has become nearly synonymous with leaks, with the latest round of early information arriving days before the commencement of Rockstar Games’ official marketing deal with Netflix.
Wanted Levels And Reputation

Grand Theft Auto’s iconic “Wanted Level” system returns in GTA 6. However, unlike the last game’s 5-star setup, Rockstar Games is returning to a maximum of 6 stars.
This was standard for the series before GTA 5, with games like San Andreas, Vice City, and GTA 4 all featuring Wanted Levels up to 6 stars. The leaks show that GTA 6 is reverting to this system.
GTA 6 also seems to feature different identifiable traits for the cops. Icons in the leak suggest cops can identify Jason’s clothes, appearance, and vehicle, which may tie into the 6-star Wanted System.
Elsewhere, the game appears to have incorporated an “Honor System” similar to one from Red Dead Redemption 2. This is evident in the clip showing Jason fighting an NPC, where a devil-like icon appears in the UI, implying a decline in reputation.
Although the leaks don’t reveal much else, it will be interesting to see how these systems have evolved from past games.
Driving, Loadouts, And Refueling

The small snippet of GTA 6 showed the game’s driving mechanics, and they don’t seem as arcade-like as GTA 5’s. In any case, it seems Rockstar Games has taken a note from GTA 4‘s harsh driving mechanics, finding a middle ground between the last two Grand Theft Auto entries.
Beyond the driving itself, vehicles display a fuel gauge, suggesting the game will require topping up from time to time. Here’s hoping that gas prices in-game aren’t as harsh as they are in real life.
The leaks also highlight a “loadout” prompt near the vehicles, suggesting that players will be able to store and swap weapons in cars. This could work similarly to how Red Dead Redemption 2’s weapons could be grabbed off of the horse’s saddle.
Immersive Elements And Attention To Detail

GTA 6, Rockstar Games’ most ambitious title, seems to have as much attention to detail as fans would expect.
For starters, leaks show small details like wrinkles in Jason’s shirts as he moves and interacts with the environments. Elsewhere, Jason braces for impact and appears terrified when the vehicle he is driving is about to crash.
Car crashes deplete Jason’s health, and NPCs can now react to a car crash by exiting their vehicles and attacking the player. Jason even holds the rearview mirror while braking to check whether the car is at a safe distance from traffic approaching from behind.
Actions like melee attacks also appear to be tied to a stamina bar that depletes over time. Speaking of attributes, Jason gains something called “Focus” when playing basketball, something many are comparing to Red Dead Redemption 2’s “Dead Eye.”
Melee Combat Borrows From Red Dead Redemption 2
Finally, the gameplay videos so far show that the melee combat has clearly built upon the mechanics introduced in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Although the mechanics themselves aren’t shown clearly, the sense of weight and impact in each attack is very reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption 2. Moreover, one video also shows a slow-motion finisher, much like those from Rockstar Games’ last blockbuster release.
The most interesting part of the information is that the group behind this leak seems to be continuing to release more information about GTA 6. As such, additional details could show up well before Rockstar Games’ planned marketing campaign picks up.
