Tencent has investments in the likes of Epic Games, Riot Games, and even FromSoftware.

Needless to say, these teams bring a wide range of experience to the table. From technology to game design, the publisher has invested in some of gaming’s biggest names, so Techland has enjoyed the partnership.

There is always the danger of publisher interference when such acquisitions take place. However, it seems Techland is more than happy to work under this gaming giant.

The industry remains concerned about consolidation since publishers like Embracer Group have seen thousands of layoffs this year. Fortunately, Tencent has not been as aggressive, and Techland is able to continue supporting Dying Light 2 as a result of this change.
