- PlayStation recently released Days Gone Remastered.
- The game offers minimal visual improvements, yet it already boasts a user score of 9.5.
- This score is higher than the original’s, reflecting the current love for the IP.
PlayStation announced Days Gone Remastered not too long ago and was met with criticism over re-releasing modern games. Graphics comparisons were also unfavorable for the remaster, following a similar trend as The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
Fortunately, it seems the core Days Gone fanbase is still willing to support the franchise. Following the launch, PlayStation’s latest remaster has earned a user score of 9.5 on Metacritic.
Why it matters: Bend Studio’s live service project was recently cancelled by PlayStation, so constant fan support could encourage the team to rally for another attempt at revitalizing Days Gone.
The user reviews for Days Gone Remastered went live recently, and the game has collected a total of 66 reviews since then. This has resulted in an average score of 9.5, putting the remaster ahead of the original release.
Days Gone originally had a user score of 8.5, although this average was calculated after 12,228 reviews. Anyhow, the new score reflects how the fan perspective has shifted on the franchise since 2019.
Many have come to accept Days Gone as an underrated PlayStation title in recent years, and fans hope to see Bend Studio return to the series. Days Gone writer John Garvin has also taken note of the current user score, thanking fans for their support of his work.
Although chances for a sequel remain slim at this point, PlayStation will likely take note of the positivity regarding this IP in recent years. Perhaps this will lead to something later down the line if the stars align.
