PlayStation Doesn't Want To Do Anything On Its Own!

Story Highlight
  • The former head of PlayStation’s first-party studios believes Bloodborne hasn’t been remastered due to Hidetaka Miyazaki’s busy schedule.
  • He states that PlayStation likely respects the FromSoftware head’s wish to lead such a project.
  • Meanwhile, fans continue to demand a remaster.

The Bloodborne remaster has been a constant topic of discussion in the industry, and it continues to capture the interest of millions of fans. Even with a playable version of the game now on PC via shadPS4, fans are holding out hope for a proper official re-release.

FromSoftware has also chimed in on the conversation before, and a former PlayStation executive is the latest to share his thoughts on the matter. As per his opinion, PlayStation is waiting for Hidetaka Miyazaki to proceed with a remaster.

Why it matters: Following Elden Ring’s explosive success and Armored Core’s revival, FromSoftware has found itself stretched thin across multiple future projects. The CEO is also working on what he described as his ideal RPG.

Discussing Bloodborne on the Kinda Funny Games podcast, former PlayStation first-party boss Shuhei Yoshida shared his thoughts on the situation.

He believes that Hidetaka Miyazaki loves the game and is currently interested in returning to the game. Shuhei Yoshida also believes that the FromSoftware boss likely does not want anyone else leading the remaster.

As per the executive, PlayStation respects this decision and has chosen to leave Bloodborne in its current state till Hidetaka Miyazaki can find free time on his hands and return to the IP.

Miyazaki-san really loved Bloodborne. I think he is interested, but he is so successful he cannot do it himself. He doesn’t want anyone else to touch it.

The former PlayStation Studios boss also revealed that he continues to receive questions about said remaster from fans on Twitter to this day.
