Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Features Action-Oriented Combat Faster Than Original

The Faster Combat Will Allow For More Fluid Combos!

Story Highlight
  • Edward Kenway’s VA reveals that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will have action-oriented combat.
  • It will feel faster and more fluid, resulting in a smoother enemy takedown than in the original game.
  • Perfectly parrying can break the enemy’s defense, and the player can chain up to four enemy takedowns.

After the controversial resizing at Ubisoft earlier this year, gamers’ confidence in the conglomerate is at an all-time low. A lot is riding on the anticipated Black Flag remake, and the leaks so far reveal it clearly won’t disappoint in terms of visuals.

A leaked internal presentation previously impressed the media behind closed doors. Newly leaked details from that presentation now confirm that the remake will reportedly feature action-oriented combat that is faster and smoother than the original.

Why it matters: All the leaked information so far has suggested that Ubisoft is aiming to surpass our expectations with the upcoming AC Black Flag Resynced. However, surpassing the original game’s combat won’t be an easy feat.

Ubisoft is preparing a full-fledged remake rather than a simple remaster.

As reported by Insider Gaming, Edward Kenway’s voice actor Matt Ryan confirms in the leaked presentation that the combat system has been reworked into more of an action experience. This would allow for grander fights that were previously impossible.

While wielding dual swords, pistols, and hidden blades, every move now plays a specific role with faster and more fluid attacks and combos.

Matt further mentions that players can dual-wield swords, pistols, and hidden blades. A perfect parry can break open the enemy’s defense for an instant kill, which can then be followed up with up to four chained takedowns.

Use walls, ledges, and breakables to your advantage.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is also improving a lot of the game’s other original features.

The improved HUD features two mini menus in each bottom corner to let you cycle between weapons and items on the spot. There are also different-colored visual cues for enemy attacks to portray attack types.

Regardless, Ubisoft plans to pursue more AC remakes in the future if Black Flag Resynced performs well. It is set to come out on July 9, 2026, with a trailer supposedly just around the corner.
