The Clip Also Features Scenes Not Present In The Original.

Story Highlight
  • A leaked clip from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has given fans the first look at the remake.
  • The graphical upgrade is stark, with characters and in-game assets appearing more detailed and brighter.
  • Furthermore, the short clip also includes a cutscene not seen in the original title.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is arguably the worst-kept secret in gaming history. The remake has been in the rumor mill since 2023, and Ubisoft was finally forced to confirm its existence this March.

Reports previously suggested that Black Flag Resynced could be delayed by a year, but the publisher is going to officially reveal the title in the next few days, with a tentative launch set for this summer. Now, a clip from this reveal trailer has leaked online, and shows the remake’s graphical upheaval compared to the 2013 original.

Why it matters: The Black Flag remake is a fan service master stroke by Ubisoft and exhibits how easy it is to make successful titles by just giving the players what they want.

An 11-second clip from the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced trailer has leaked online and showcases the graphical leap the remake is taking. As visible in the video above, Ubisoft has added extra detail and more context to scenes in this remake, in addition to upgrading the graphics.

For example, the zoomed-in shot of the ship was not present in the original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag cutscene. Hence, Resynced is not going to be just a remaster, but a complete remake with more layers and an open world akin to the one seen in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.

Furthermore, the graphical upheaval in contrast to the 2013 edition is huge. As the image below showcases, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be less saturated and more photo-realistic compared to the original. The character models and in-game assets have added detail, wearing elaborate clothing with supplementary pieces.

The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is set to release this July, and private showings of the game have already impressed fans, and we can see why.
