Remakes have found great success in the gaming industry. In addition to other developers, Ubisoft also has multiple remakes in development. However, the developer may now be looking at Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag for a remake.

A new report from Kotaku states Ubisoft has plans to remake Assassin’s Creed 4.

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed 4 is among the most popular entries in the critically acclaimed franchise. Upon release, fans enjoyed the story of Edward Kenway and the ship combat featured in the title.

The gaming giant is already working on remakes for Splinter Cell and Price of Persia: Sands of Time.

While these games have already been announced, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been limited to remasters in the past. This report means that Ubisoft is finally ready to provide similar treatment to its most popular franchise.

While Assassin’s Creed has various popular entries, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag provides a unique blend of ship combat and pirate adventures. This separates it from other titles in the franchise, and it has also been very well received.
