Another GOTY For Baldur's Gate 3!

Story Highlights
  • Baldur’s Gate 3 has already won over 64 GOTY awards.
  • It won another GOTY award last night at the New York Game Awards 2024.
  • The game has won the most awards last night alongside Alan Wake 2.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been the biggest release of last year. While the title has already won 64 Game of The Year Awards, with each new event, it continues to add to this list, bagging its latest Game of the Year last night.

The title was nominated at the New York Videogame Critics Circle and came out on top as the biggest winner. It dominated the event, winning the most awards, followed by another great release, Alan Wake 2.

Why it matters: These awards are further proof that Baldur’s Gate 3 deserved all the accolades and recognition it received last year.

Baldur's Gate 3

During the 13th annual New York Game Awards, Baldur’s Gate 3 won the Herman Melville Award for Best Writing in a game apart from Game of the Year.

However, Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t the only title to win 2 awards at the event. Alan Wake 2 took home awards for the Best World and Acting, with the latter going to Melanie Liburd for playing co-protagonist Saga Anderson.

Other great titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Resident Evil 4 Remake won various awards during the special night. Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann also won the Legend award.

Baldur's Gate 3

Still, Baldur’s Gate 3 stood above the rest as the highlight of the event.

Following its victory at The Game Awards, this CRPG has dominated awards from Steam and more. The game also made over $650 million in revenue last year, becoming the talk of the the town.

Next month, Baldur’s Gate 3 is likely to take home a few more big titles at the DICE Awards. Larian Studios’ CRPG has secured seven nominations, and it would not shock us if it won in most of those categories.

The gaming industry has already witnessed various great releases this year, but Baldur’s Gate 3 is so influential that it continues to stay around, becoming the center of everyone’s attention again and again.
