Announcement Expected In 2 Weeks!

Story Highlights
  • A PC port and a native PlayStation 5 version of Until Dawn will be announced soon.
  • The game will be revealed within 15 days.
  • This announcement comes after a report confirmed a film adaptation of this 2015 horror game.

Until Dawn belongs to the interactive games genre that blurs the lines between games and movies. Boasting positive reviews and decent sales figures, this PlayStation 4 exclusive was considered one of the better interactive games in 2015, but it never grew much.

However, this could change in 2023, with Until Dawn now making its way over to PC, accompanied by a native PlayStation 5 version, as leaked by Billbil-kun.

Why it matters: A few days ago, Sony’s CEO revealed that its plans include expanding to PC, mobile, and cloud. It seems these plans have been accelerated, and fans can look forward to more ports.

The game was already playable on the PS5 via backward compatibility. However, it lacks next-gen features like DualSense support.

This announcement follows days after a report confirmed an Until Dawn film adaptation. In addition to the likes of Ghost of Tsushima, PlayStation is working to bring this series to the big screen.

Therefore, the port is expected to create anticipation for this project. However, the source has yet to confirm the project’s scope, failing to identify whether this would be a standard port or a more ambitious remaster.

We would not be shocked if the game was bumped up to a higher resolution, came with improved textures, and integrated DualSense features. Anyhow, Billbil-kun states the announcement should be made within 15 days.

This aligns with the rumored PlayStation State of Play for February. Along with Until Dawn, a new Death Stranding 2: On The Beach trailer could also be aired at this event.

According to the report, this port has been in the works for at least one year. Therefore, it should arrive in 2024. Other ports expected this year include Ghost of Tsushima and Demon’s Souls.

2024 is turning into a great year for PlayStation ports. Until Dawn has joined a list that will soon include Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to PlayStation’s current best-seller on the PC platform.
