Reports now suggest the film’s debut footage has already racked up an impressive 500+ million views.
Why it matters: GTA 6 is easily the most anticipated game of the current generation. However, it is also one of the most anticipated releases in the entire entertainment industry for 2026, so this comparison is quite fitting.
As reported by Variety, Avengers Doomsday surpassed GTA 6 in the first 24-hour comparison. The Avengers Doomsday trailer has garnered an impressive 503 million views across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, X/Twitter, etc.
In comparison, GTA 6 boasted 475 million day-one trailer views last year when Rockstar Games showcased in-game footage. At the time, the studio had made a new entertainment record with this figure. However, the game has since been bested by two Marvel films.
In particular, the Spider-Man Brand New Day trailer still leads both Avengers Doomsday and GTA 6 with 700+ million total views in 24 hours.
Anyhow, these figures show that excitement for both games and films is at an all-time high in 2026. As was the case for GTA 6, many have likely rewatched the Avengers Doomsday footage dozens of times to analyze every last detail shown in the trailer.
