Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Already Discounted To $40 In 11 Days

Discount So Soon May Point To Poor Sales!

Story Highlights
  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora isn’t even two weeks old, but the title is already on sale.
  • The game is 40% off and available for just $40.
  • The developers likely want to increase the sales of the game during Christmas.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was released less than two weeks ago on December 7th. While the game received an average rating of 71 on Metacritic, it has done quite well among players, becoming Ubisoft’s best user-rated game in recent years.

It has better user scores than titles like Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Far Cry 6, but the game might not have sold well. This release is already 40% off 11 days after its launch.

Why it matters: Games do not usually go on sale so quickly. Recent titles like Modern Warfare 3 have also seen discounts after many had suspicions about poor sales.

Following the sale, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora can be purchased for $40 for Xbox Series X and PS5. It should be noted that the sale is only valid on physical copies. Digital copies on PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PS5 are still $70.

This Avatar adaptation is one of Ubisoft’s most important projects of 2023, and had it been released with better marketing, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora may have performed better on the market.

The discount raises questions about the game’s performance on the market. Because of a repetitive formula and the current appeal of Avatar, this title may have underperformed despite its many strengths.

Still, this discount could help Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft salvage sales if this is the case. With millions looking toward games as potential Christmas gifts, the latest Ubisoft release may get picked up along the way.

For those hoping to try the game at a later date, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is now a much more compelling purchase than it was at release. Additionally, the title is also available through the Ubisoft Plus subscription.

It is still unknown whether the game was put on sale due to lukewarm results or whether the developers want to cash in on the Christmas excitement. Anyhow, this is a great opportunity for those on the fence about buying the game on consoles.

Massive Entertainment’s work on the game’s visuals and ray tracing has been the highlight of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Many fans have concluded that this aspect alone makes the game worth trying, and this discount provides the perfect excuse to finally jump into the vast landscapes of Pandora.
