A Major OEM Insists They Will Be Shocked If RDNA 5 GPUs Don't Launch In 2027.

Story Highlight
  • A major OEM has reported that AMD RDNA 5 GPUs will launch in 2027.
  • The source revealed that they will be shocked if the next-gen graphics card doesn’t release before the end of next year.
  • This also aligns with what previous reports have said about the launch window.

Unsurprisingly, memory shortages have heavily affected the GPU market, raising prices to outrageous levels while delaying the next generation of graphics cards from companies like AMD and Nvidia. With the latter pandering to AI clients more than ever, GPUs have become a secondary priority, and Nvidia has even stopped reporting sales.

However, fans might not have to wait a long time before seeing the next-gen GPU from AMD, as a new report suggests a 2027 launch date is highly likely.

Why it matters: The next-gen GPUs have been delayed for too long, as it is. Hence, a 2027 release is better than further delaying the products to 2028 in hopes that the AI bubble bursts.

According to YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead, a major OEM has revealed that next-gen AMD RDNA 5 GPUs will launch before the end of 2027. The component manufacturer stated that the first shipments of desktop RDNA 5 graphics cards will start arriving in mid-2027.

The source also emphasised to the YouTuber that they will be shocked if next-gen AMD GPUs don’t hit the market before the end of next year. Previously, sources at Computex voiced a similar opinion, saying that upcoming Nvidia and AMD products will be here by late 2027 or early 2028.

Considering how PS6 and Xbox Helix, both of which are powered by the RDNA 5 GPUs, are reportedly launching in late 2027, this release window does make sense. In addition, with no news on the launch of Nvidia’s RTX 60 series, AMD could get a head start if the YouTuber’s source turns out to be correct.

Nvidia AMD GPUs
Previous reports suggest that next-gen Nvidia and AMD GPUs will be here by late 2027 or early 2028.

Regardless, the current-gen AMD Graphics cards will have outlasted their two-year time frame by the time RDNA 5 GPUs launch, as the company delayed the product line internally due to memory shortages. With Nvidia’s RTX 50 Super series also delayed until 2027, it will be interesting to see when consumers will be able to buy these new GPUs.
