Alan Wake 2 Dev Hoping Red Dead Remaster Does Not Release In October

"Don't Do It Rockstar, Please!"

The month of October is shaping up to be a stacked month for video game releases. Titles like Spider-Man 2, Forza Motorsport, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage are expected to release in the month. Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 is also coming on October 17.

Recent rumors have suggested that Red Dead Redemption Remaster is currently in development. With the game expected to be announced soon, it could join the growing list of anticipated games coming in October.

However, the Alan Wake 2 Director is not fond of this idea. He has recently taken to Twitter, asking Rockstar not to release the game in October.

Why it matters: Very few developers can match the appeal and popularity of Rockstar Games, and it is nice to see the Director using that fact to poke fun at the rumored remaster.

The Director said:

“Don’t do it Rockstar Games. Please!”

Considering the popularity of Red Dead Redemption, it is not surprising that Remedy Entertainment would not want to compete with another title in October.

The month is already full of promising releases, but Rockstar Games has the ability to capture the entire industry. The Red Dead Redemption franchise has also sold over 70 million units, highlighting the popularity of the IP.

On the other hand, Alan Wake 2 is no slouch, either. Remedy Entertainment has high ambitions with the game, believing it could be the best-looking game in 2023. The developer has focused on atmospheric horror gameplay, leading to plenty of excitement.

Remedy Entertainment has its fair share of fans, and Alan Wake is also an old franchise. Still, it is great to see the developer acknowledge the influence of Rockstar Games and joke about the situation.

While Alan Wake 2 has a confirmed release date and plenty of promotional material, the same cannot be said for Red Dead Redemption.

Plenty of evidence over the last month has pointed to a potential remaster, but it remains to be seen if the remaster will be able to impress fans after a disastrous launch with the GTA Trilogy.
