When the GeForce RTX 4090 went on sale this month, few people got lucky with securing one, even though there were many options to choose from. Instead, most of the stock was snagged by bots and ended up being sold on eBay.
Well, it looks like the launch of GeForce RTX 4080 for $1,199 might be heading in the same direction. The pricing on the custom variants on the GeForce RTX 4080 might be pre-scaled according to the listing on Microcenter (first reported by Videocardz).
As you can see from the above screenshot of the listing, the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 16GB will be priced at a whopping $1,549, while the TUF variant is priced at $1,499. Aside from these two, the rest of the custom variants are closer to the mentioned MSRP.
Nvidia is also reportedly short on stock for the upcoming GeForce RTX 4080, meaning fewer units will be available for the RTX 4080 than the RTX 4090. Though if you are still interested in getting your hands on the GeForce RTX 4080, there is good news. Microcenter won’t be selling its units online this time. Instead, buyers would only have the option to pick up one in stores only physically.
For those who are unlucky with snatching the GeForce RTX 4080, Nvidia is rumored to launch the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti in January during the CES event. Aside from that, the launch of AMD Radeon 7900 XT and 7900 XTX is also around the corner.
