The Witcher 3 was released in 2015 and saw an extremely positive reception from fans and critics alike. CD Projekt Red became known to the masses through this title, and the developer quickly became a fan favorite in the industry.

Since then, The Witcher 3 has seen multiple DLC releases, expanding on an already beloved title. Fans of the franchise have been patiently waiting for a sequel to the beloved release, and CD Projekt Red has also hinted at multiple new games for the franchise

The developer has revealed a ton of new information, and CD Projekt Red has confirmed a brand new trilogy of Witcher games.

The next game in the Witcher franchise is codenamed Polaris. This game will likely continue the legacy of The Witcher 3 as the developer attempts to recapture the charm of the 2015 release. Project Polaris will mark the series’ first release in a brand new trilogy.

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that two more Witcher titles are in development, apart from the trilogy mentioned above. An external team will lead Project Canis Majoris with developers with prior franchise experience. However, not much information has been provided on this future title.

Furthermore, project Sirius will offer the series a brand new gameplay style. The game is being developed by Molasses Flood, with a multiplayer offering in addition to the traditional single-player gameplay. Project Sirius will have some help from CDPR, and a previous job listing has also hinted at multiplayer elements for CDPR’s games.

Next-gen witcher

Despite the huge amount of information, no details have been provided on the next-generation version of The Witcher 3. A delay for the next-generation version was announced a few months ago, and the developer has not provided more information.

The Witcher franchise has slowly become one of the biggest names in the industry. CD Projekt Red’s games have also been popular as a TV show. The Witcher season 3 has now been confirmed for summer 2023, giving fans of the franchise a lot to look forward to.

Despite CD Projekt Red’s recent downfall with Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher games still hold a special place for millions of fans worldwide. It remains to be seen if the developer can impress audiences with the upcoming games, but CD Projekt Red’s plans certainly look ambitious.
