With games like God of War and Spider-Man and upcoming titles like The Last of Us and Uncharted, Sony has been doing exceptionally well in the PC community. They have introduced some of their best PlayStation exclusives to the PC platform, and the PC users love it.

Unquestionably, many more PlayStation exclusives might also be coming to the PC platform, but it has been made clear that the game would need to wait at least a year before it could be launched on the PC platform.

Hermen Hulst, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, recently disclosed that it would be at least a year between PlayStation and PC game launches in an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze.

This makes sense because exclusive titles are a significant factor in the high sales of the PlayStation consoles. If their exclusives were available on day one or early on the PlayStation and PC, it would take away from the PlayStation hype.

He also said that live service games might be available on PlayStation and PC from day one because, in his opinion, the community is what makes live service games successful. He stated,

“I think going forward we’ll see at least a year between releases on our own platform, on PlayStation, and on the PC platform, possibly with the exception of live service games.”

“We might, in the case of our live service offerings, go day and date with PC and the PlayStation platform.”

We look forward to what Sony has planned for in the future and what other PlayStation exclusives will be ported to the PC platform.

On that note, what do you think about there being at least a year between PlayStation and PC game releases? And live service games releasing day 1 on PlayStation and PC? Let us know in the comments section.
