- Ghost of Yotei is reportedly around 1.5 million units behind Ghost of Tsushima at a similar sales point.
- Both games have generated similar amounts of revenue for Sony due to Ghost of Yotei’s $70 launch price and lack of major discounts.
- It should also be noted that Ghost of Tsushima launched to a bigger audience on the PS4 in 2020.
Ghost of Yotei launched as PlayStation’s biggest first-party title of 2025, and much was said about the game’s commercial performance.
The title was said to be selling faster than its predecessor after selling over 3 million copies shortly after release. However, a report suggests it has fallen behind Ghost of Tsushima when comparing sales in a similar time period after launch.
Why it matters: Many expected Ghost of Yotei to perform even better following the reception of its predecessor, but the latter hasn’t done quite as well.

Ghost of Yotei sales are reportedly behind Ghost of Tsushima by around 1.5 million units so far, according to Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliot.
Comparing launch-aligned revenue, Ghost of Yotei and Ghost of Tsushima have generated $407 million and $418 million, respectively. The former has sold 5.4 million copies thus far versus the latter’s 7 million sales.
Despite selling fewer copies, Ghost of Yotei has made nearly the same amount of money because of its $70 launch price and lack of many discounts.

The analyst also explains that Ghost of Yotei launched to a smaller audience than Ghost of Tsushima did on the PS4. Still, the latter’s revenue figures seem to be slowing down.
