Alan Wake 2 Took 2 Months to Hit The Same Milestone!

Story Highlight
  • Control Resonant has become the fastest Remedy game to surpass 1 million sales.
  • For context, Alan Wake 2 took at least a couple of months to reach the number.
  • The studio is finally getting the recognition it had deserved for so many years.

Remedy Entertainment is arguably the most underrated studio in the gaming industry. It has delivered groundbreaking creative titles like Quantum Break, Control, Alan Wake, and more, but somehow still doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

Their latest weird venture, Control Resonant is once again not only a critical hit, but this time a commercial hit as well. It has become the fastest title in the studio’s 31-year history to surpass 1 million copies sold.

Why it matters: Even before the game was released, it was quite clear that it would sell well. The game seemed creative, unique, and dialed everything up a notch, which made the original Control such a great experience.

Remedy announced that Control Resonant has sold 1 million copies in just 3 weeks since launch, making it the studio’s fastest-selling game to reach that milestone. For context, Alan Wake 2 took 2 months to reach the milestone.

Remedy Entertainment games are incredible, but they don’t have a strong track record of selling quickly. Alan Wake 2 was among the best releases of 2023, but it didn’t become profitable for a long time.

Control Resonant
Remedy’s new title has become its fastest ever to cross the 1 million sales milestone

Control Resonant has broken the studio norm and already crossed the million sales mark. Reviews have been glowing, calling it a contender for the Game of the Year award, and finally the studio is getting the attention it deserves.
