- A former Naughty Dog developer suggested that human-made games like Intergalactic may be admired more in the future.
- He highlights that changing times and technology might lead to people appreciating the effort that went into these projects.
- The developer also points out that hundred million-dollar games might cease to exist due to technological advancements in the future.
Naughty Dog has confirmed that more Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet information will arrive next year.
Ahead of this date, the likes of Troy Baker have hyped up the game. A former Naughty Dog developer also believes that the title could be looked back on as a marvel in a few more years.
Why it matters: Naughty Dog’s games are considered special among PlayStation’s catalog, with many looking back on them as some of gaming’s best releases to date.
Speaking to Kiwi Talkz, former Naughty Dog developer Matt Radford raised an interesting point about how things evolve over time.
He highlighted that cathedrals in places like Cologne are looked back on as marvelous due to the talent and effort that went into them, something he believes simply isn’t possible today due to how things have evolved.
He argues that iconic games today will likely be seen in a similar light, especially since technologies like AI will fundamentally change how games will be made in the coming years.
We’ll look back at some of these games – at a game like Intergalactic, at a game like Uncharted 4 – and we’ll marvel at it.

The ex-Naughty Dog developer also pointed out that some day it might not be possible to spend $300-$600 million on a game, so the big titles from today and the past will stand out in a big way.
