Warhorse Studios’ Martin Kilma says that he doesn’t find GTA 6 particularly interesting. However, he is looking forward to the game’s pricing, hoping that it will lead to a wave of price hikes across the industry.

Speaking to PCGamer, Warhorse Studios co-founder Martin Kilma noted that most of the industry is afraid to raise prices.

However, he believes that there is no other option for the industry. Martin Kilma hopes that GTA 6’s $80 release will encourage other developers to follow suit and ensure long-term survival for the games industry.

The Warhorse Studios co-founder also noted that he doesn’t find GTA 6 all too appealing apart from its price.

The last thing you can do is increase unit price. That would help a lot. Hopefully, GTA 6 will allow us to increase the cost.

The statement does suggest that many in the industry are currently looking for any possible excuse to push AAA games to the $80 mark. However, it will be interesting to see whether other developers can justify the pricing without matching the impossible bar set by Rockstar Games.
